This is a torsion axle. It was on my trailer. The axle rusted and collapsed with a full load of dirt a few blocks from my home. So I dragged the trailer home leaving a skidmark on the road. Oh, I had to cut the bolts holding it on the trailer to get it off. Not fun. This was the start. From there in short order, my air conditioner went out (when it was in the 90's of course), then my lawn mower died. And so did my sprinkler. Then the brakes on my other trailer went out after I bent the body of my truck trying to back it up to get the trailer (I bumped the edge of the garage.) And then the pressure tank in the basement began to leak. I was able to repair that so my wife put a load of clothes in the washer. Unfortunately, the sump pump failed and so I was trying to clean up a flooded laundry room at 4 AM. I'm certain there is more but as this all happened in the space of a few weeks, I just don't want to think about it.
